Training for a Run / Shoot Biathlon is fun! Build your fitnss and endurance, while also enhancing your ability to focus, and maintain a steady hold with trigger control, and hit the target. The most competitive athletes are those who Master both disciplines, and not just one!
TRAIN FOR AN EVENT
RACE Course profiles will vary, but most will include run stages of 800M to 1 Mile, followed by a round of shooting at 5 targets, roughly 4 inches in diameter, from 30-50 yds. away. Shooting stages, of which there will usually be three, are done in prone, seated and standing (off-hand) positions. Penalties for missed shots include either a fitness challenge (like burpees) or extra running. Sometimes it's better to just slow down!
